Idiot of the Year
And it's only January...

On January 31, 2007, Biden, in an interview with the New York Observer, made a misstep when speaking about possible presidential candidate Barack Obama. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” Matt Drudge and his website The Drudge Report immediately seized the story, as did the liberal and conservative blogosphere.
Victory*
The Lame Ducks pulled out an unofficial victory earlier tonight -- had to forfeit due to lack of players, but we played anyways...ya know, off the record. Anyhow, it was a pretty decisive victory as far as losses go. Ha. I plan on being kinda sore tomorrow and really sore on Thursday.
Lame Ducks
My weary old bones are headed to the intramural fields tonight for some pigskin magic. I'll get to see if my ban at Rec sports was temporary or more of a lifetime deal. Hurrah!
Call Me Pete
I've got money on the Superbowl -- $20 on the Colts. Big spender, I know. But, see, I don't bet on sports or much of anything. This is strictly a "put your money where your mouth is bet" to make things just a touch more exciting. As if it will need to be...I'll be in Chicago.
Local News
Watching "the news" is painful as a general rule. If forced, I tend to watch WCJB in the morning. I happened to leave the television on after American Dad this evening and was just shocked. The Orlando Fox News is so horrible. The stories are garbage, which I expected, but even the taglines and writing is dumbed down to an unbelievably low level.
I saw the same story about a twelve year-old girl being beaten advertised twice. First, it was "Girls Gone Wild." Second, the segment was entitled, "Real Life Mean Girls."
Are you kidding me? The whole newcast was like a Mad TV skit gone wrong and way too long.
