Movin’ On Down the Road

Yup, he's made enormous sacrifices for this country...like ummm...raking in money hand over fist for his cronies. Cheers to this guy riding out on a rail.

Gonzales Resigns

Alberto Gonzales is finally on the way out! The nation can breathe a collective sigh of relief. I fear, however, that he will simply be replaced by Michael Chertoff or some other nasty neo-con.

Housing Search

Happy to say that we checked out some houses today. I'm very impressed by many neighborhoods! The leading one in my mind is Parkridge East. They've got some old houses, new houses, and in-between: a pretty nice mix!

Gradients

We made it to Bloomington last night just before midnight. We experienced the most insane traffic jam of all time. The highway we were headed for -- the highway everyone was headed for -- was closed. However, there was no sign indicating such. All of the sudden, wham: gridlock. It took us three hours to go 3 miles. This jam had everything, ladies and gentlemen. There was roadrage: douche threatening me with a tire iron. There was heartache: we were running on fumes.

There was pure exhaustion: we had spent the day lugging mega-heavy boxes. In the end, we are safe and elated. Upon traveling to nemesis, Walmart, this afternoon, we realized that a new Walmart Superstore has been constructed. I hate the corporation as much as anyone, but have learned that a nice Walmart still beats a hole-in-the-wallmart. Even in the midst of a college campus back to school frenzy, we were able to locate our items and check-out quickly. It's been a weekend of amazement...
