Ludicrous Ad
I saw one of the most horrible ads ever tonight. HOPE: Hummer Owners Prepared for Emergencies. The ad featured footage of a Hummer driving through natural disasters such as floods. Question: if we didn't drive gas guzzling Hummers, would we have to worry about such severe natural disasters?
Hoosiers Look to Rebound…
from a nasty loss to unranked, but battle-tested, Xavier tonight against Georgia Tech. I hope they get off to a good start offensively and shake-off that hideous shooting and rebounding performance from a few nights ago. I've heard D.J. has been sick, so Mr. Thomas had better be ready to play some serious minutes.
Frank TV
Tell me you weren't annoyed by all of those Frank TV ads bombarding you on TBS. I know you were. I was. Well, I watched the show last night (almost all of it) and it was pretty funny. I especially enjoyed his Seinfeld sketch. I'm hoping they do away with his monologues though. They were pretty horrible. Bringing up audience members is just hokey.
Maddenisms
- "Now that's just automatic...like brushing your teeth. It doesn't happen in college; you don't see it in Pop Warner. It's like sticking the toothbrush in your eye.
- "You just know their gonna throw to Gates. I don't know why they don't have somebody on him. I'd ride 'em...even take a couple holding penalties."
- "Now...we were talkin' about the ref earlier, his guns, and he stopped a bus from hitting us."
New Look Hoosiers

Freshman Hoosier bigman, DeAndre Thomas
Went to the IU basketball game vs. UNC Pembroke last night. I went in very curious as I hadn't been to a game in five years or so. The new Sampson Hoosiers don't resemble the Knight teams of old. I was struck by the difference in overall player and body type. It was refreshing to see 6-6 to 6-8 players as opposed to only tiny guards and goofy immobile centers. All the players I saw could run, move, and shoot. Just like at Oklahoma, he seems to have constructed a hard-working, talented team that hustles and rebounds. I'm excited to see what happens this season -- they've got a lot of young talent. Eric Gordon looked unstoppable and as Todd Leary said in post-game, "In most scenarios, he'll be the best player out on the floor."
